Exterior waterproofing makes sense when your foundation walls are severely compromised, when you’re already doing major foundation work, or when interior solutions won’t address your specific situation. It involves digging down to your footer, applying a waterproof membrane to the outside of your foundation, and installing exterior drainage. It’s more invasive and costs more, but sometimes it’s the right call.
